Ahhh winter... nothing says winter like sick kids... master 5 has been knocked off his feet this last week and what started with a sore throat and ear, turned into a case of the "random vomits".
One night last week he walked to the table for dinner and without any warning or complaints, proceeded to puke all over his plate. Oh the joys - my kids have never been vomiters so I have rarely had the pleasure of cleaning up spew since they were tiny babies.
The next few days were spent in front of the tv, eating practically nothing, quietly, strangely subdued with a once-a-day spew at random times, just to keep us on our toes. I made the most of the sick-cuddles though, they just don't happen as often anymore. And while mostly I yearned for my boy to feel better, a little part of me was relishing being the carer, the nurturer, the one to kiss it all better. These cuddles are the one silver lining to that cloud.
A few days later, we knew he was feeling better when the sibling bickering started again!
Have you escaped the winter bugs at your house?
Emma had been wanting to do a family session for a little while but wasn't sure if her gorgeous and energetic boys would be ready to sit still for it. A pretty normal fear for all of us mums, and having small kids myself, I totally understand!
Our morning was spent at the beautiful Botanic Gardens on Tamborine Mountain, cool breezes and lots of things to do and explore, we kept moving and kept the boys occupied! Here's some of the favourites from the day:
