A few weeks ago I complained about the kids ratty behaviour and my despair at ever getting out the door on time. Since then I've resurrected the Star Chart and have seen a good change in attitude from them - our mornings have been a little bit calmer and a lot happier. But school holidays have still been busy and mummy has been a little stressed at the backlog of work which has been looming. So instead of spending time with them, this week I've given in to the ipad and DVD, just to keep them out of my hair. I've directed them to playing Connect-4, or Monopoly, to give me just another half hour to get stuff done... time is precious after all. But the other day, after getting close to her "reward star" on the star chart, miss 7 decided to write out a list of all the things she could choose for her reward. A "wish list". Standard items like having ice cream, choosing something from the Prize Box or a new ipad game were duly noted... however she added one item that stopped me in my tracks. "For Mummy to play Monopoly with me" Ok I'm not the worst parent in the world, but that right there told me all I needed to know. This should NOT be something that she chooses as a reward, this should be something we do because its fun! I forget that they are still little and still need me to spend time with them. We cuddled on the lounge that night and I thought about my baby girl, how she wants to be so grown up but right now, what she needs is for her mummy to step away from the computer and play a board game with her. So that's what I'm doing this weekend, folks. Time is precious after all... Master Theodore was such a superstar during his newborn portrait session - enjoying such a great snooze while Kayla and Byron got to relax in the comfort of their own home. My newborn portrait sessions can either be done in my photography studio at Tamborine OR I can bring the studio to you if you prefer! This means you can relax and go about your day (put on a load of washing, make lunch or get changed) while I focus on capturing those precious moments with your newest family member! Kayla's kind words: "Hilary did an amazing job with my little man in his newborn shoot. It was fantastic that she could come to our home, which kept us all comfortable and happy for the few hours. She did a great job positioning him gently in all the cute poses." Newborn sessions are all inclusive (no session fees, sitting fees or minimum order values) - and you can even pay by payment plan! Book now and receive a free mini maternity session with all newborn bookings (not transferable to any other product or package).
